One of the partners of the Trenčín synagogue restoration project is the Jewish community in Oslo. We are very happy that we could welcome representatives of our partner to Trenčín at the end of March. The bilateral workshop was organized by another project partner - Jewish Cultural Institute.

At the beginning of the workshop, the guests were welcomed by the vice-mayor of the city, Patrik Žák. Subsequently, they got acquainted with the progress of restoration work in the synagogue, whose interior is currently being restored. The workshop itself was focused on the exchange of information, experiences, as well as the presentation of the rich cultural heritage of the Jewish community in Slovakia.

We presented our entire restoration project and its contribution to Trenčín and the Jewish community. We focused on financing the restoration and the lasting results that come with the permanent exhibition that will soon be installed in the synagogue.

At the same time, we told them more about the Jewish community in our country and its rich cultural heritage. We also presented other regional projects that received financial support from the EEA and Norway Grants. Also in this way, we want to show the enormous importance of this financial mechanism for the restoration of monuments in Slovakia.

The workshop was part of the project "Renovation, reconstruction and revitalization of the Synagogue in Trenčín", for which the Jewish Religious Community in Trenčín received 934,737 euros through EEA and Norway Grants.
